ABOUT Oliver
I'm Oliver Bukasa.
My work sits at the intersection of mental performance, human behaviour and the realities of performing under pressure.
My academic background is in Psychology and Human Development and alongside my work in mental performance, I work as a Talent Advisor within the Faculty of Science at the University of Melbourne.
I've lived across North America, Europe, New Zealand and now Australia. Different cultures, careers and environments have given me a broad perspective on how people think, communicate and respond to the expectations placed on them.
But the thread running through everything I do has remained remarkably consistent:
I'm interested in what happens to us when something matters.
Over time, that's led me to a simple conclusion:
Most people don't need more motivation or information. They need clearer internal language.
The better we can understand what's happening internally, the better equipped we become to respond deliberately rather than simply react.
That's the thinking behind my work.

THE BE BETTER ACADEMY
A platform for exploring how we think, perform and navigate pressure.
The Be Better Academy is where that work lives.
The idea behind the name is simple. Be Better.
Not better than everyone else.
Better informed. Better prepared. Better able to understand yourself. Better equipped for what the moment asks of you.
For me, better is a practice, not a destination.
The Be Better Academy brings together my thinking around mental performance, human behaviour and the increasingly complex environments we're being asked to perform within.
Through coaching, writing, frameworks and practical tools, I explore questions around pressure, attention, confidence, identity, resilience, decision-making and what it takes to perform without losing yourself in the process.
The aim isn't another stream of motivational advice. It's to make complex ideas useful.
WHERE THIS IS GOING
The Be Better Academy began with coaching, but I don't see coaching as the boundary of my work.
I'm building towards something broader.
A platform where ideas about mental performance and human behaviour can be explored through writing, programs, assessments, speaking, workshops and meaningful conversations with people who see performance from different perspectives.
I'm interested in what happens as the environments around us continue to change.
Technology is accelerating. AI is changing how we work and think. Our attention is increasingly contested. The volume of information we're expected to process continues to grow.
The question I'm interested in is whether we are.
I don't expect The Be Better Academy to have all the answers.
I'd rather it became a place willing to ask better questions.
